When the snowflakes fell on Leland last week, it was like magic in the air. Our coastal town, more familiar with sunny skies and beach breezes, transformed into a picturesque winter wonderland. Many of us grabbed our cameras (or phones) to capture the beauty of snow-dusted rooftops, icy branches, and serene, white-covered streets.
For a town that rarely sees snow, it was a special event. But it was also a reminder of how much we miss our usual sunny days. On one hand, the snow was a rare and beautiful treat. On the other, it made us long for the warmth of summer and the carefree days by the beach.
Even Riley, our dog, had mixed feelings. He took one look outside and decided his usual walk could wait for another day. Who could blame him? The snow was stunning, but it brought a chill that we’re not quite used to here in Leland.
Snowy Leland through Drone
One of the most enchanting parts of the snow day was seeing our town from above. Thanks to the talent of our very own licensed drone pilot, Ryan Fialkosky, we captured stunning aerial views of Leland blanketed in snow.
These photos showcase the charm of our coastal town in a way few have ever seen. From snow-covered rooftops to frozen marshlands, the images tell a story of a winter wonderland that will remain in our memories.
Missing the Summer Days Already
As beautiful as the snow was, it’s hard not to miss the warm, sunny days we’re used to in Leland. The thought of sandy toes, ocean breezes, and vibrant sunsets feels like a distant memory. But perhaps that contrast is what makes moments like these so special — they remind us to appreciate the changing seasons and the unique beauty each one brings.
A Day to Remember
This snowstorm may have been fleeting, but it’s one we’ll talk about for years to come. The photos we took and the memories we made will remind us of this rare and beautiful day.
Whether it’s snow or sunshine, there’s always something magical about life in Leland.
