When Tom, Riley Jones and I moved to North Carolina ten years ago this December, we had no idea just how much life would change — in the best ways.

We spent our first month staying in Carolina Beach while we searched for the right place to call home. As soon as we landed in Leland, we fell in love.

Now, back then, Leland was a lot quieter — and we definitely didn’t realize just how quickly the growth boom was coming. It took us by surprise!

But with that growth has come so many new places to explore, eat, and enjoy.

In fact, Brunswick County has been ranked as one of the fastest-growing counties in North Carolina.

Some days, I’ll admit — I still crave the quiet little town we first moved to.

On those days, you’ll find me sitting out in my yard or relaxing on our screened-in porch, soaking up the peace and solitude.

And on the days when I’m ready for a great meal, maybe a game of pool, or even just my favorite cauliflower bites, I hop in the car — and two minutes later, I’m in town.
