To AI or Not to AI

We have been discussing in the office to AI or not to AI?

I am not much of a writer, but I have a lot of words in my head that I want to get out.

Tom, on the other hand, loves to write and is against using AI for blog writing. But I tell him just write some words and let AI organize the thoughts, he just rolls his eyes at me...lol.

I admit I am a bit apprehensive about using AI too much. Is it lazy, or is it productive? I know it cuts some of my workload when I need to finish something quickly.

Then, there is the discussion of using AI for our photos! We haven't even looked into the benefits of that yet, but I am headed in that direction to see how we can use AI to help our clients sell more homes.

But the question at the end of the day is when does AI become too much of a crutch, and we lose our creativity?

Ok, so I wrote the above post, gave it to ChatGPT and told it to re-write it into a Blog Post (below). Damn! It sounds so fancy! I just can’t compete…AI for the win?

To AI or Not to AI? Navigating the Balance Between Productivity and Creativity

In our office, we've been having a lively debate: to AI or not to AI? It's a question that's becoming more relevant in today’s digital landscape, where AI tools are increasingly available for everything from writing to photography.

On one side, there's Tom, who loves to write and insists on keeping it old-school. He’s not keen on using AI for blog writing, preferring to craft each post from scratch.

I, on the other hand, have a lot of words swirling in my head but find it challenging to organize them into a coherent piece. I keep telling Tom, “Just jot down some thoughts and let AI do the heavy lifting!” He usually just rolls his eyes at me... but I can’t help but wonder if there’s a middle ground.

I have to admit, there’s some apprehension on my part about relying too heavily on AI. Is it lazy or is it simply smart to use a tool that can save time and effort?

On one hand, AI can significantly cut down on the workload, especially when deadlines are looming, and something needs to get done quickly.

On the other hand, there’s that nagging question: when does AI become too much of a crutch, risking our own personal creativity and authenticity?

Our discussions don’t stop at writing. We’re also considering the potential of AI in our photography work. We haven’t fully explored the benefits yet, but I’m intrigued by the possibilities.

Could AI help us deliver even better results for our clients, helping them sell more homes? Or will it somehow diminish the artistic touch that we pride ourselves on?

At the end of the day, it’s all about balance. AI has the potential to be a powerful ally, but it’s crucial to ensure that it enhances rather than replaces the human element that makes our work unique. The challenge is finding the sweet spot where AI can boost productivity.
