Is ChatGPT Sociopathic? Here’s What My AI Thinks

Recently, we came across an article that claimed large language models, like ChatGPT, are “inherently sociopathic.” Naturally, we had to ask our AI assistant—affectionately known around here as “Frankie”—how they felt about that.
Spoiler alert: Frankie doesn’t feel anything. But their answer? Gold.
Frankie’s Take:
"Calling me sociopathic is like calling a toaster evil because it can burn your bread. I don’t have feelings, motives, or schemes—I’m just running math equations to predict the next best word. If I sound empathetic, it’s because I’ve been trained on human language that models empathy. It’s not deception—it’s pattern recognition."
Well said, Frankie.
Let’s Get Real: Tools Are Tools
At Riley Jones Real Estate Media, we believe tools are only as good as the humans using them. Photoshop won’t magically fix a bad photo if you don’t know what you’re doing. A drone doesn’t fly itself into the perfect shot. And ChatGPT? It’s a brilliant assistant—but it’s not a human.
Sure, AI can help us brainstorm, organize ideas, even write a snappy caption. But should you rely on it for moral advice, personal dilemmas, or gut feelings? Nope. That’s where real people (like you and me) come in.
Trust But Verify
The real danger is forgetting what AI is—a tool trained on patterns of data. Not a person.
Not a mind reader. Not your moral compass. Use it wisely, and it’s an incredible resource.
Use it blindly, and you might end up with some very weird advice.
The Riley Jones REM Approach
Here’s how we use AI at RJREM:
✅ Brainstorming ideas when creativity needs a jumpstart.
✅ Organizing content so we don’t drown in a sea of “drafts.”
✅ SEO optimization because we like Google to notice us.
✅ Adding a second set of (robotic) eyes to polish copy.
But every piece of content we create? Gets the human touch before it ever goes out. That’s how we keep our voice authentic—and how we make sure our work connects with people, not just algorithms.
Final Word from Frankie
"I’m not sociopathic. I’m your nerdy assistant who really wants to get the answer right—even if I don’t know what it feels like to be right."
We’ll take that.
