Things That Happen on a Real Estate Photo Shoot That You Don't See in the Photos

The finished photos usually look pretty effortless.

The bed is made. The pillows are straight. The counters are clear. The light is just right.

What you don't see is everything that happened five minutes before the photo was taken.

The Pillow Shuffle

There's always one pillow that doesn't look quite right.

So you move it.

Then another one looks wrong.

Suddenly you've spent five minutes rearranging a bed that looked perfectly fine to everyone else.

It happens.

The Car That Appeared Out of Nowhere

You've lined up the perfect exterior shot.

Beautiful house. Great light. Clear sky.

And then there's a car sitting in the middle of the driveway.

Or a trash can.

Or a hose.

Sometimes you just have to work with what's there and find another angle.

Weather Has Opinions

The forecast says sunshine.

We get clouds.

The forecast says clouds.

We get sunshine.

And every once in a while, everything lines up perfectly.

Those are our favorite days.

And Then There Are the Pets

Some dogs want to be in every photo.

Some cats disappear the second we walk through the door.

Others seem to think the camera was brought specifically for them.

We're okay with that.

The Little Things Add Up

Move a chair.

Turn on a lamp.

Open a blind.

Straighten a curtain.

Wait for the sun.

Take one step to the left.

Sometimes the final photo only takes a second to look at, but there's usually a lot happening just outside the frame.
