A Few Things We’ve Noticed While Driving Around the Coast Lately

When you're on the road as much as we are, you start noticing things you might otherwise drive right past.

We're constantly heading from one property to the next, passing through familiar neighborhoods and discovering new ones along the way. Lately, we've been noticing a few things around the coast.

Summer Isn't Quite Ready to Leave

It's September, but some yards are still looking very much like summer.

Flowers are hanging on, lawns are green, and porches are still set up for those long evenings outside. The coast doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to change seasons.

New Homes Are Popping Up

There always seems to be something new.

An empty lot becomes a foundation. A foundation becomes a house. Then suddenly, there's a whole new neighborhood where there wasn't one before.

Because we're on the same roads so often, we get to watch those changes happen over time.

Things Are Getting a Little Quieter

You can feel the difference after summer.

The roads aren't quite as busy, the beaches have a little more breathing room, and everything feels just a bit slower.

We're not complaining.

And Then There Are the Little Things

A beautiful old tree.

A backyard that makes you want to sit outside all afternoon.

A deer crossing the road.

A dog who is absolutely convinced they should be included in the photo shoot.

Or a sunset that makes you stop for a second.

Those little moments are probably our favorite part of being out here so much.
